The questions you have before you order.
Short answers, with a link to the page that covers it properly. Nothing here we wouldn't also tell you in a ticket.
Getting started
How much RAM do I actually need?
For vanilla with a handful of friends, a few gigabytes carry you a long way. Plugins add a little, and a big modpack is what really eats memory, so those want noticeably more. If you're unsure, start smaller: moving up later takes a moment and costs the difference, not a new server.
More on memoryHow many players fit on my server?
There's no honest single number, because it depends on what runs on the server. Vanilla with a few plugins carries a lot of people; a heavy modpack gets tight much earlier at the same size. What matters is the tick rate, and you can watch it live in the panel instead of trusting a slot count.
Can I bring my existing world along?
Yes. Upload the world folder in the file manager in the browser, or over FTP if you prefer. Nothing here is locked down: it stays your world, and you can pull it back out the same way.
More on the file managerHow do my friends get onto the server?
You get an address you can pass on, and your people enter it in Minecraft under "Add server". No extra software and no account with us for them.
Plugins, mods and versions
Plugins or mods: what is the difference?
A plugin runs on the server alone, so your players don't have to install anything. A mod changes the game itself and therefore has to sit on every player's machine as well. If you want new features without asking anything of your people, plugins are the way.
More on pluginsCan I run a modpack?
Yes. Pick a pack and the panel installs the whole thing: loader, Minecraft version and every mod in it. Your players need the same pack in the same version on their side.
More on modpacksCan I switch server software or version later?
Any time, in the panel. From vanilla to Paper because you want plugins, or to Fabric for mods, and up or down a Minecraft version. Make a backup first, because a switch reinstalls the server.

What happens if I wreck my world?
You go back to a backup. That's the one thing you can't fix with hardware, which is why it's not an add-on here.
More on backupsWhat about attacks?
DDoS filtering is on from the first minute, on every server. There's no switch to find and no upsell attached to it.
More on DDoS protectionWhere do the servers stand?
In Frankfurt, one of the central network hubs in Europe, with short routes into the German-speaking region. More locations are planned; the ones that are live are the ones you can order.

Am I tied into a contract?
No. There's no minimum term and no cancellation letter. You stop, and the server runs out at the end of the period you paid for.
When do I get an answer?
Our core hours are daily from 10:00–00:00 (Europe/Berlin). Outside them we often still answer tickets. We just don't promise it.

Still got a question?
Then ask it. A ticket reaches someone who has run a server themselves, not a script.
